Scene –

The memory of childhood flickers. Two children laughing and singing together into the open air. Solina remembers the joy she felt as she and Tahuya created songs for the earth together as children.

She stands on the stage tuning her guitar, as many are arriving to hear them play, and she speaks to Tahuya as though he is there with her:

This is her voice as she first came to me … in the stories before they were spoken.
